Verrry interestink. Thanks for that. Here's what Google gives me:

pic. 1 Cptn. George Curwen (1610-1685), painted ~1670s
Massachusetts man, wealthy merchant, active in church, a captain in KPW.

pic. 2 John Freake, painted in the first half of 1670s
Massachusetts man, very wealthy merchant, royalist, politically opposed to the Puritan hierarchy.

pic. 3 Cptn. Elisha Hutchinson, painted after 1675
Massachusetts man, religious dissident (son of Anne Hutchinson), a captain in KPW.

pic. 4 JOhn Leverett, painted in 1670s
Governor of Massachusetts Bay colony. Religious dissident - opposed Puritan hierarchy. Fought in the ECW as a Parliamentarian cavalry officer. I suspect that his portrait shows him as a young officer.

pic. 5 Mjr. Thomas Savage, painted circa 1679
Massachusetts man, political leader, religious dissident (son-in-law of Anne Hutchinson).

So all of these figures are from Massachusetts, though several spent time with the religious exiles in Rhode Island. Not surprising that these surviving portraits are of the colony's elites. Interesting how many of them were at odds with the orthodox leadership of the Reformed Church.
You'll shoot your eye out, kid!
