The robots really are great.

They have the perfect sort of fantasy/realistic feel, like Gundam meets General Dynamics' Big Dog.

I joined my gun with pirate swords, and sailed the seas of cyberspace.

It would pretty badass to use Epic rules for naval action. Except the infantry would look dumb. :D

Says you, my tyranids would only be scarier when swimming and humming the jaws tune!
3d designer, sculptor and printer, at your service!

I can see the robots doing some front crawl swimming! :)

MEANWHILE: here's another robot i churned out in the last days.
First the sketch (in scale)

Then a first version (the Socrates for scale)

and what proved to be an acceptable one, once test-printed. More in line with the socrates, under many regards.

More news soon, i've gotta equip these little fellas!

How tall would it be, in millimeters?  I don’t to 6mm but am always looking for cool “man-sized” bots for 15-18mm.

measuring one i have with me, it's about 16mm to the "head". A pretty nice non-human humanoid, i'd say!

Some updates on the "other faction", the one i'm not 3D printing!
I've started preparing the bases for all the remaining tanks and for the robots (from White Dragon Miniatures) and i'm particularly proud of the big 'un.
Totally WIP for now, but still worth sharing

Cheers

Damn man, do you have any idea how much work it is to put those big transmission structures back up after something has knocked them down?

That base looks incredible.

Thanks guys!

The smaller bots (see last page) is now equipped, printed and painted.

In fact, I even did a mini-painting-tutorial for the painting process. Mostly for myself, so that I won't lose track of the steps.

Words will follw soon.

Cheers
Jack

More updates on the infantry!

about 4 years ago I re-sculpted with slight modifications the old 15mm infantry i did 5-6 years ago in 6mm. I never tried printing some, so I did and i painted them quickly.

THEN i decided to resculpt them from scratch in a better style. I did learn a thing or two in the last half-decade, afterall!

...now they have chunkier proportions to work well in 6mm. Cute, no?

... as a bonus, here is a finished shot of some of the White Dragon Miniatures robots used as titans!

Cheers

Fantastic work.
Thank you!!

Meanwhile...
I printed the first infantry troops, and they look pretty convincing!

I printed them for 15mm too (240% scale) and although they are meant for 6mm, they really do their part. I will have to re-support them properly for the scale though. :)

And.... HEAVY TANKS! I took the model you can find a few pages behind and made it bigger and tougher. It's not just a rescaling, since the elements used have a fixed size, but i added parts and made it into a properly super-heavy tank!

... of course, with multiple weapon options.

Soon-ish that will all go to the store! =)

Cheers,
Jack
