I think I tried posting here 3 times this week and I keep getting connection timeouts... is there some dark magic at play?

Anyway just wanted to say: love the mammoths, isn't it great when a big mini like that turns out beautiful without too much time spent!

Thanks everyone, glad the comparison photo was of use.

Nice conversions! I'm impressed at how much mileage you're getting from the Frostgrave kits! Looking forward to seeing them painted up

The Frostgrave Barbarian & Soldier boxes are probably my favourites, purely because there so many handy extras. By the time I’ve added in the Westwind heads, and different metal shields, they give me so many possibilities, I just end up buying more sprues.

 ;D

Thank you, I must confess it was satisfying to get the mammoth finished so quickly...it helps keep up the momentum...

...speaking of which, I managed to finish the two War Elephants for the Golden Company today (although I’ve already spotted a couple of bits I want to touch up).

...and a couple of shots with the first unit of spearmen.

Maybe I should issue the foot soldiers with some shovels?  ;)

Hope you like them.

I think that the Thenn will be next in the paint queue...unless I get distracted again...  :)

Thanks everyone, I’m glad you like them...the Golden Company was probably one of the units I spent the most time thinking about how I wanted them to look.

 :)

Cheers...I’m getting a little braver with using green stuff

I think that the Thenn will be next in the paint queue...unless I get distracted again...  :)

Ok, what can I say, but I got “a little distracted” today and instead of finishing the Thenn, I started building a slice of King’s Landing ....as you do!

 lol

Initially I’m going to focus upon 6 x 2’ terrain tiles....I can fit another 6 on my table, but I’m thinking out representing a slice of the Blackwater in at least some games.

To represent a portion of the city wall, I’ve settled on a combo of Hudson Allen & Ziterdes terrain, cut to size.

Unlike my Winterfell board, where the Hudson Allen castle will sit on top of a gaming mat, I’m going to build the walls onto some tiles so I can have a bit more fun with building the city scape.

Needless to say, the walls I’ve chosen don’t fit exactly onto the 2’ tiles, so I’ve cut them to size.

The Ziterdes gateway is actually from a OOP Fortress model I bought off eBay a while back, which was damaged en route...cannibalised though the gateway is ideal for my purposes...at least once I’d cut away the solid gate.  As you can see from the Perry figure in the next photo, it’s a good size.

I’m thinking of basing it around the Mud Gate, so I’ll have an open space inside the gate to represent Fishmongers Square, but other than that I haven’t made much in the way of a plan just yet.

 :)
