The Dark Gathers - The Barrow-Guard of King Taranis, p.14
« on: 01 December 2018, 04:43:43 PM »
A sister thread to my Black Order log, this is to record the progress of my Undead army for Kings of War, KoW: Vanguard, and anything else I try my hand at - maybe even SAGA if they do a fantasy versoin?

Let's start with an introduction to the ancient kingdom of Modgud, now long since passed into oblivion...

Thanks all - very much appreciated. The skeletons are a mix of Wihtgar and Wihtax from Mierce Miniatures' Jutes range.

YES EXCEEDINGLY. Your twin threads have so much narrative to them, your penmanship is excellent. Lovely painting, reminds me once again of uneasily playing Myth.

Loved the other thread - I definitely have to follow this one.  Where are your skellies in the first post from? Lovely detail on those, brought to life by your excellent painting!

All this is fantastic.  Love the bear.  Think I saw him on a popular TV series recently.

All this stuff is so dark and brooding and just excellent. Love those skellies in particular, and your backstory for them is fantastic.

Love your stuff!

I think the official fantasy version of SAGA 2nd Ed. is just around the corner - in the meantime (if you own 1st Ed.), you could have a go at A Fantastic SAGA (fan-made and free):

Cheers Hupp - very glad you like them :) I have a bunch more on the table to paint now...

Haha yes. I did wonder if I should do him as a polar bear but figured a grizzly would fit the tone of the force better. Couldn't resist painting its remaining eye as a GoT homage.

Glad you like, hope you enjoy what comes next!

Cheers mate - unfortunately I don't own 1st ed - is it incompatible with 2nd ed? I've heard great things about AFS...

Thanks Ragsta! I tried hard to make the two forces feel like they're from the same world so am glad you appreciate them. Myth has been a huge inspiration, as always :)
