Hello,

looking for Cars for KKBB. Does anyone know good manufacturers? Is 1:64 or 1:48 the better thing to get???

There are arguments for both, I personally have chosen to keep my vehicles in the 1:56 to 1:50 range and have managed to find quite a few cheap die cast that work.

Matchbox's made quite a few of them. The classic Aston Martin with a catapult chair which could take your eye out according to my mother. The Bond Lotus surface-to-air missile platform as well. I suspect she was just a skinflint and used security as a reason not to dish. My therapist says this is the reason I spend so much dough on toys these days.

I have some of the de Agostini's Bond cars, but since I have no KKBB miniatures I cannot tell anything.

Another source doe dedicated bond cars is the Little Lead Soldier (pricey I think). They also carry a range of figures, too (in 30 mm)

The Bond car with gadgets was a Corgi. Originally in 1/43rd which is a great match but re-issued in the 70's and still today in 1/32nd which is too big. The de-agostini or Del Prado are cheap alternatives and there are Universal Hobbies, Minichamps, Vitesse etc etc.

L-R Corgi 1/32nd, Corgi 1/43rd, Vitesse 1/43rd, Universal Hobbies 1/43rd

And I cannot resist showing off part of Aston collection, this is about half of it but I do not have the shelf space for the rest so it has to live in boxes

And I forgot to say the Little Lead soldier figures are a bit basic to say the least - very old school and would not mix well with KKBB

I have a DB5 from the 007 Magazine collection made by Universal Models . It looks good next to 28mm figures but am unsure of the scale though.
You should be able to find some on Ebay.

Maybe yes.
I have only one Sherlock Holmes painted set, bought many years ago (1985???) at a very high price. They are basic, but still they are a bit useful. At that time it was the only Sherlock Holmes miniature available [or I could find] in that scale.

Didn't Corgi produce the original Bond Vehicles in 1:65? You can still buy some of them at some German Toys R Us shops.

Corgi do and have done Astons in many different sizes. Like most diecast manufacturers these things are "box" sized rather than scale accurate.

I presumed from my previous picture everyone would agree with my opinion that the 1/43rd cars work best - my bad.

L-R: Del Prado , Corgi, Corgi & the original Corgi Gold DB5 which is in fact a little smaller than the silver birch one in my other picture.
