Looking to fill some gaps in my Fallout Lineup
« on: 16 June 2009, 06:09:32 AM »
Greetings,
Well I am now down to just a few critters and a couple terrain items to finish my quest for building up a Fallout 3 Miniature collection, and I am hoping the vast collective minds here might help me find some "close" figures to use.

First is the new Mole Rat http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Mole_Rat, I cannot find anything that looks like this wrinkled low level foe with bucked teeth.

Second is the lowly rad-roach.  The plastic roaches you get at gag shops are just too big.   http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Radroach  I am sure I have seen metal 28mm bug swarms.

Third is giant ants.  These man sized bugs, I was hoping to find also at the gag-shop but they were too small. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Giant_Ant

Fourth and finally is the disgusting Bloatfly.  http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Bloatfly

As for terrain goes, the thing I am looking for is a desktop computer terminal miniature. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/File:Terminal.jpeg.  I did see the ones by Black Cat Studios but they are too modern for what I am hoping to find.

Any help in finding miniatures that represent these items would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Greyseerco

The Giant wasps from Wargames Supply Dump could be used for the bloat fly.

For the computer terminals, I´d suggest either Scotia-Grendel:

(which are relatively cheap, but have some casting flaws)

or the Copplestone stuff he did for the KKBB range:

Scroll down for "Room Sets" and "Props & Equipment".

Eureka has a giant ant with pygmy rider
http://www.eurekaminusa.com/product.aspx?id=1762&cid=196

Steve Jackson Games used to do giant ants for GURPS Steampunk/Mad Science/Atomic Horror, but I can't finf them in their online store, Warehouse 23.

Not sure whether Mississinewa Miniatures' bugs will be useful but with a little filing the vermin may work as Mole Rats.

These are perfect for the bloatfly, just remove the attenna and you are good to go (so these have been ordered).

I swear someone made like an office furniture set with metal desk, chair and computers (much like what Prince August shows) but for much less.  I have plenty of the KKBB Accounting office sets (which I was told were discontinued due to the desks ruining the molds).  So I am just looking for the consoles.

I will see if I can track down the atomic ants as I do recall seeing those at one time.

Thanks all and keep the ideas coming.

I would suggest looking at Reaper for metal, or the D&D collectibles for swarms...

There are two swarms in this collection - the rot scarabs should work.

And here is a Reaper version

Oh yeah, you must be thinking of J.D. Lauck's Mega Miniatures modern scenery. You can find it in his eBay store at http://stores.ebay.com/MegaMiniatures

Here's the terminal:

Thanks for the suggestion, but a its a wee bit too small. Radroaches are about about the size of Beagle.  Too big to squish with a boot.  I am currently using the rune-deamon from Demonweb as it is kinda beetle looking.  But still both excellent suggestions if I wanted to do something like out of Damnation Alley with the roach swarm scene.

I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but are you serious? Isn't that like going to an expensive French 5 star restaurant & ordering a Hot dog with chili on top?
