Christ on a bike! Did you hand paint all those helmet designs? They look superb.

I seem to recall it was your suggestion, back on page 53..!

Those look brilliant! The work on the shoulder patches is outstanding. Might as well do the lurid helmet decorations now.

Funnily enough the helmets were less of a task than the little arm badges.

They do look great.  And that 113 probably drove through a river.  That'll leave all manner of dried crud on it...

Excellent as always Ash. Can I ask where you got the shrubs from, they're much better than the ones I've been using for jungle.

The stumpy Bamboo is just the CPR's finest plastic offerings, cut short enough to fit the slot in the storage box. The bushy bits are small bits torn off a sheet of 'rubberised horse hair', not sure that horses had any part to play in its making, as I think it's coconut fiber marinated in some sort of latex. Then covered in glue and dipped in flock. The flash really lights up the latex bit that missed the brown paint. Then there is some ground up mixed herbs under the plants (given a brown wash & khaki dry brush), and some dodgy home made grass tufts.

Picked up the 'Barnes & Elias' figures from Studio Miniatures (aka  Tom & Will), very close in height to the Empress blokes.
Thought they would be in Vietnam era kit, however they were sporting more modern attire, mollie & rucksacks. Ended up removing the packs and filling the loops, then added more appropriate packs & webbing.
