Currently I am painting two small units of light cavalry and another big unit of Pole-Arms, probably divided into four smaller units for gaming purposes.

In the long term I have a third big unit of pikes, two more of knights, several units of pole-arms, archers, hand-gunners and artillery. For the fantasy part I plan on a couple of giants, two mounted lords on dragons and some other bits and bobs.

I hope to have a playable friendly army by the end of the summer and a proper hard core tournament ready army by the end of the year. Right now I am just painting whatever strikes my fancy, pikes are rather poor for their points in KoW, but they look good.

That should cover most options! My KoM army is based on WoTR army, but I find for KoW I need to add more cavalry and fantasy stuff to make it viable. I do like adding a giant. Also having a mounted hero or two to nip around to get war machines or wizards is always useful. And lots of Army Standard Bearers (which lets you add more flags!)

Freezywater flags - http://vexillia.com/freezywater/shop25_flags.html#t-1 (scroll down).
Books (with flags) - http://vexillia.com/common/shop_books.html#t-1

I allready have those flags. however they are in my opinion too "flat", they are also not vibrant enough for my taste.

Thanks for the tip though :)

That was the plan, I am still uncertain what I want to use as giants, I am thinking about getting a Tarraasque (sp?) since its a medieval french monster that could fit. Since I have plenty of normal humans to paint I can procrastinate for a while and postpone any decisions I need to make with regards to the fantasy part of the army.

What would to use to represent the Tarraasque?
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

I am thinking about this miniature from Mierce, , but I think it might be too large for a 75x75mm base, also the price, so I need to wait for a 50% sale.

Hi Briefspite,

Excellent figures, could I ask you what figures did you use for the advancing pike men? I prefer that pose to the standard Perry plastic pike shouldered figure.

No worries :)

I used the EA2 and EA3 codes with metal pikes, I think I bought those from North Star but I am not sure.

That is an impressive Beast. And would attract all the fire and spells in a fantasy battle.  lol

Since, you are setting this for up for kings of war fantasy battles. Maybe some of the
BASILEAN Angeles might make decent proxy saints or some such entitie.

It's probably a couple of months at least before I need to make any sort of decision, so I will see what I do then :).
