One does have to accept historical precedent as being meaningful....  lol

I am reminded of a saying, 'Doing the same thing & hoping for a different result...' lol

Bought a job lot of figures off e-bay. Fair amount of repairing required,
but should yield a goodly number of troops for different periods.
Started with some of the Ancients.

Hinchcliffe Thracians & EIRs.
Blame Vodkafan for persuading me to try 3,2,1 basing. lol
I'm thinking of tweaking Fistful of Lead to provide a game.
Will try and collar Vodkafan for the fight, & let you all know
how it goes.

Woah  :o well done Peter! Can't  believe these are the same figures I looked at a few days ago. They look incredibly cuteam on the 3-2-1 basing!
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt

1) Were you only 'yolking' David?
2) They are involved in a war of 'nutrition' !
3) Unit not completely...yellow.
4) Which came first, the chicken or the egg joke?
5) Cracking shield design.
6) Just wait till the (Roman) soldiers turn up.
Shall I stop?  lol lol lol

1) He made an enemy of the cook by nailing three of his fried eggs to the ceiling.
2) Having made 463 fried eggs the cook wrote home, 'Mum, shells have been
     bursting around me ALL day'
3) How do Psychoanalysts like their eggs?    Freud!
4)  After the officers nabbed the yolks the squaddie's' food was...all white.
5) She followed the beauty tip & shampooed with an egg...
spent the rest of the day pulling scrambled egg out of her hair.

Shall I continue? ;D

The story goes that Brian Clough (Best England manager we never had) climbed
into bed after a late night training session. His ice cold feet hit the warm back of
his wife, 'Oh GOD!' she exclaimed. 'No, it's Brian, but you were close'
 lol lol lol

More from the e-bay job-lot.
Essex late Romans.
Already painted, so my work was:
Removing wobbly cast spears & standard shaft, replacing same with long pins.
Pins had to be shortened & the tip squeezed to make spear-points.
A tidy up of the shields and
complete rebasing.

You are on a roll !  These are unrecognizable from the dusty tat you showed me last week. You saw through the dust into the treasure!
