Nicely finished off as always. To fit in games with all the stuff you are producing you will need to start playing at least twice a week :-). When are we going to see this Black Powder game taking place with your Spanish sending the French packing?

We could play a (limited) game now. It would look pretty, but
us poor Anglo Spanish would have our arses handed back to us
on a plate!
Now the dust is starting to settle, from having the roof done in
the Wargames room, I am beginning the BIG, LONG, SLOW
sort out. Reclaiming the painting table for... painting has meant
I feel things on the project pile will (very slowly) begin to move,
however I will be taking a long hard look at what I have (done
and yet to do) to sort it ALL out.
I want to be able to put a variety of games on at the drop of
a hat. i.e. enough figures, scenery & some rules I am happy with.
Sooooo,
Everything will have to be sorted into:-
Almost there. =  WW1 Aerial is in this group, now that I've done
The record cards, so is ACW now I've rebased
it all. This section can/will still have things added,
e.g. Some Cavalry for the ACW.
Projects.  = I already have bought & done 'stuff' but falls short of
'Almost there' (Needs opposition, rules, scenery etc.)
so I need to concentrate (on one of these at a time)
so that they will move on.
Ain't working. =Could be I haven't done this for a long time.
So I need to decide which section it moves to.
Little while ago the ACW would have been in
this section, but along came Rebels & Patriots!
The Samurai likewise, a suggestion here on LAF
about using Pikeman's Lament & they are into
top group. Other projects, that I can't/won't
do something with will fall into the last section.
It has got to go = Just taking up storage space, which even I
have realised IS finite. The decision with these
is, how is it to go?  Ruling out my brother
Patrick's suggestion of, 'The Skip' there are
other answers. Donate it (have done a fair bit
of this (School club etc.) Cherry pick some of
it (out of three box file of Dark Age figures
I have kept about 20 for a skirmish game)
Sell it (Trade at Tables might be back next year
so start sorting now. Things like a box of figures
with a set of rules, lots of those around, and
a few bits of scenery, might sell.)

Ahh well they say if you want to hear God laugh, tell him YOUR
plans for the future. In the meantime I am in a happy place,
Lovely wife, nice home & wargames a plenty. :)

Also painted up a WW2 Russian artillery tractor.
Got it off e-bay for £10.
Now BOTH of my Soviet artillery pieces can be towed,
as previously Vodkafan generously made a different
one for me.

Oh & a picture of what the lamp-posts used to look like
before I hacksawed off the chunky base & mounted
them on washers.

Yes. I wasn't going to paint it up that quickly, but James said
that it would be easier to see the detail with a bit of paint on
it. I had a bit of paint left over from doing up the Poundland
bits, so... on went a thin undercoat & well the paint then
just seemed to want to leap onto it. :?

I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt

As JC (local player) has said, 'When the paint flows, go with the flow'
and, 'Some days the paint just doesn't want to flow'

Sentient paint. It makes up for the, often, non sentient ME.   ;)

A friend was gifted a 75% finished Block House,
he asked me to finish it off for him bar the basing
as he wants it to match his other scenery.
First was sticking on about half the individual roof
tiles. Then a poser. What to do about access to the
upper floor. A simple answer would have been a ladder,
so I decided to build a stair-well, silly me. A lot of work
& filler needed.

Having let all the roof tiles set, I next had to
cover the vertices. Often on the frontier sacks
were used. I cut up lots of bits of paper towel,
soaked them in diluted wood glue & slapped
them on. When dry they were all painted grey.
later I picked out some in different colours &
dry brushed a light (dusty) colour.

Then stuck on the shutters on the upper floor.

Plus fixing the doors which had to open.

At last finished!
Some pictures to prove it.
Resolutely defended against, 'Them pesky Indians!'

Hope the owner likes it.

I should have mentioned that it arrived with no painting done.
That tatty, worn, lived in look of the wood is the result of a
LOT of thin washes & dry brushing.

He seems to have faith in my abilities, as
he has already offered to do a Zouave unit
for my ACW Yanks, and he hasn't seen it yet.
