28mm Modern Brits etc
« on: 01 October 2019, 12:59:37 PM »
Saw the Empress Miniatures Willie Apiata VC figure had been added to the store, so had to place an order, also picked up some 22 SAS to go with. Whilst the brushes were out I tarted up some modern Brits I did a while back, added Para wings and 1 PARA DZ flashes, so they should look the part for SFSG.

Here's the SAS (pack SAS1). Couple of head swaps (should have added beards...), the two standing blokes had GS smocks added.

Cheers chaps. I just love all the details on these models, Mr Hicks definitely does his research well, the kneeling bloke with the T shirt even looks to be wearing 5.11 tactical trousers (going by the rear slant pockets and the single attachment strap on the right side. These should go well with the British army figures from the Ultra moderns range.
I picked up a few packs at Salute several years ago and added some para wing decals and DZ patches when I was painting these. The wing sort of blend in to the point that they are rather hard to spot...

I'm calling these guys SFSG, two four man sticks, then another eight to follow with support weapons...

These were previously posted a few years ago, have since had the bases tarted up and badges added.

Just for the record these are by our other main figure sculptor Tony Boustead.  ;)

Great job though.  :-*

Good to know, thanks. I believe he sculpted all the 20mm Rhodesian figures I collected. These 28mm moderns are some of my favorites with all the attention to small details.

Tony does get very extreme about detail and we love him for it  :-*

Thanks Swordisdrawn, much appreciated.

The modern Brits are quite exceptional, you can even see the individual pouch closure clips. I'm going to have to get some more now and try to do the camo lighter.
