Ok, now that I'm back from holidays, I add some more details.
The deck is thin hardboard, patiently sraped with the blade of a screwdriver.
A very boooring task.
I cut panels, hatches, etc. following with a certain degree of freedom, an original U-Boot blueprint.

As usual, I'm waiting for your comments and suggestions.

Here the pictures.
More pictures soon... very soon.

Marco

Dude, that looks awesome! I'm definitely gonna have to take a crack at building one of my own now. Thanks for sharing and really looking forward to watching this progress.

Holy cow, did you punch all those slots in the decking?!  That would have driven me mad.  Looks great though.

Looks like a very tedious job. o_o
But it looks amazing.  :-*
Very realistic looking. :-* (But you cheated using original blue prints ;))

But I don’t think the screw driver punch is working as good on the foam on the side. The slots don’t look as neat.
I have never tried so I don’t know if it would work but maybe try heating the end of the screw driver before pushing it into the foam?? It may give you sharper edges. Trial it first before attacking you model.

gamer Mac,

you are obviously right!
I started with screwdriver punchs on the sides, but I'm totally unsatisfied of the result.
So... once again I benefit of your experience and suggestion, and yesterday evening I started to drill and cut some plasticard sheets.
A task as even more boring than the punching of the deck!

Here's the blueprint

Thank you all for the kind feedbacks!

Looking good Marco, I might have to put some depth charges on my Destroyer now  lol

Am sure that your patience will be rewarded - the base coat will knit all the different parts together, and give it more a machine-manufactured look - keep up the good work!

may I suggest using a retractable little antenna for the scope?
that's what I am going to do on the Nautilus Secundum

Bedwir: thank you for the suggestion, but actually I suppose that what i modelled IS already a lowered scope.

Akula: sure! Put some depth charges. And quickly!! :P :D

yes I noticed
but isn't the base of the scope a little bit high for storage?
while being of course historically accurate

bedwir,

you're right, but storage is not a problem, as probably this ship will dock on a shelf, with the task of collect dust! ;)
No jokes: I really hope I'll put up a scenario for some convention.

OK

so, I don't know how you want to finish the hull
if it is meant to be rubber covered, you will probably simply paint it
if you want rivets to be seen, I would recommend the following

cut  pieces of lead foil (tomato paste tube or other) to size, shape them along the hull, and then impress the rivet seams from behind with a fashioned comb
you will need an underground of soft wood
glue the foil to the hull then
