Best Sdkfz 222?
« on: July 12, 2009, 08:41:24 PM »
I am considering to reward myself with some new vehicles, including a Sdkfz 222 suitable for 28mm (1/48 - 1/56 scale). Can anyone advice what they consider to be the best resin, metal or plastic kit available?
Grateful for any help!

Personally I think that the Bolt Action 222 takes the trophy. It's very nicely done and the turret detail, in particular, works very well indeed.

Not sure I can declare one the "best" over any others, but I do have a Bolt Action Miniature's one on my shelf and I'm very happy with it.

I have the AGN 222, which is a nice 1:56 kit, but if it existed at the time I'd have gone for the BAM one, looks just that little bit nicer.

Mine is a 1/48 ICM kit that came rather cheap with photo etched grill for the turret.

Yes, it´s a very simple plastic kit, that´s rather easy to build.
I suppose you are German, so you should be able to read this review (if not, the pictures speak for themselves):

Thank you for providing suggestions. The armoured car is one of my favourite all time A/Cs along with other family members, it's interesting to see how many more 222 A/Cs we will see come out onto the market by companies.

It´s Vallejo fur brown watered down to a thick wash, applied over all and taken away from flat surfaces with a clean brush. I aimed at a dusty look by doing so.

Nice, mine came through Saturday, nice little kit very impressed.

What Vj colour did you use for the main body of the SDKFZ?
