I’m certainly covered now I think bud! Lol

Got home this afternoon to find postie had delivered my own copy of FFoL and my Fireforge mounted Templar and Sgt at arms sprues along with my Wargames illustated Balian figure!

A little disappointed with the Fireforge tbh......same horses and same knight bodies and same cloaks in each!  The only difference between the boxes being differing heads and weapons / shield arms.....so much for variety!

Anyway, I will have a few spare if the guys need them.

Now....going to read my new rule book.....

Doesn’t bother me too much, easily incorporated into the shadow....and I win whenever there is less to paint!

Yes, Fireforge are very cheeky. Many of their sets contain a lot of the same components as their other sets. In some cases, there’s not a huge amount of difference.
That said, I think the foot figures at least do provide the best raw material to facilitate creative kit-bashing of generic early medieval figures. And once you’ve bought a few of the different boxes, you do end up with a reasonable assortment of different bodies.
But I’ve always felt their repackaging of many of the same components into ‘different’ kits is a bit of a rip-off

Yup, they are, and to call the one sprue a “ command sprue” is a real joke!

None the less, I’m not making as many as you fella so I can make enough variety for my purposes.

Best still, I have a few spare horse for the South Warwickshire posse if they need one.

Indeed.

So I’m thinking a little Hollywood here.  Regardless of what a crap film, and that’s with a capital C, the 2018 Robin Hood was, I am of a mind to change out the headware on a few archers for a shemagh or “desert” garb.  I did like the look of them in the opening crusade elements of the film.

Yes, I know there were liberties taken with other dress (too modern looking etc) in the film, but, I defy anyone to tell me otherwise but I believe adopting the cooler more practical local headdress may well have occurred.

Besides, i think it will look the dogs!   Ordered a few heads.
