20mm Zombie question Weird War 2
« on: 18 July 2009, 09:35:56 PM »
Not a question about lead but plastic!

I've been asked to run a Weird War game by my nephews involving zombies in WW2 - all my WW2 stuff is 20mm mostly plastics. Because this is likely to be played only a few times I'm looking for plastics if possible.

I've come across a game called Zombies!!! by Twilight Creations who supply bags of 100 plastic zombies.

Does anyone know if these models are compatible with 20mm (1/72) figures?

I just got one of the female Zs I have for the game, and she seems to be almost exactly 21 mm from footsole to eye.

I'd say yes, a fairly good match. I also think I've seen them used with 20 mm / 1/72 minis before.

You can buy the figures separately, too (Bag'o'Zombies), and you can even get some that glow in the dark  lol
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Just bear in mind: They are made of a soft kind of plastic, so you may find it hard to get paint staying on them, if not handled with care after painting....

Yes I've seen the bag o Zombies in person, they are 20mm and will work with most 1/72 figures. The old Arifix figures are a little smaller than these. Use the rustoleum plastics primer they should paint ok.

Thanks, I've painted thousands of soft plastic (polythene) figures over the years.  The most effective method I've used to date is:

Wash in warm water and some detergent.
Rinse under running water.
Prime with clear acrylic varnish.
paint.
Seal with clear matt varnish.
