Well, when you say "Daily Planet", I think of the Daily Planet from the classic Fleischer Bros. Superman cartoons of the 1930s or the cheap sets of the 1950s, television show, not a set of soulless modern corporate cubicles...
Not to take anything away from the GF9 terrain piece. It is a great achievement. I suppose if it was intended for gaming with modern-era Heroclix figures, an old-timey look might have seemed out-of-place...
