I followed a few links off this site and found this "tank chair" pretty interesting:

There are thousands of these from Produkin-Gorskii, though most in black and white, if you go to:

If you follow the information links, you can generally work out quite accurately what the photo is of too. Unfortunately his military ones were mostly destroyed.

I had a trawl through that link, Mark. A lot of interesting pictures in there. It's gutting to know that there actually were military ones that were destroyed. These are the most military-related ones I could find:

Some sort of Bokharan (sp?) prison guard

Cossack or former cossack?

Gorskiin with Cossack (maybe one of his guards on his photo expedition)

Army officer with uniformed civil servants (I think)

Austro-Hungarian prisoners riding along railway they were used to build

More Austro-Hungarian prisoners. This photo is handy if you're planning to model some of the Austro-Hungarians who fought for the Red Army as it shows how over time, as their clothes wore out, they more and more russian clothing.

Bokharan Palace Guard

Bokharan copper?

It's well worth having a look through those photos though. There is some brilliant inspiration for BoB terrain.

Awesome.  The most evocative pictures I have ever seen of the period.  They look as if they were taken last week, never mind nearly a century ago.  Wow!  I will have to trawl through the lot.  Thanks guys for digging these out  :-* :-* :-*
