Brigade Models 28mm Belgians
« on: July 25, 2009, 11:35:48 AM »
No, NOT the American company "Brigade Games" which is well known for it's 28mm stuff!

These are from a company I'd only ever associated with Full Thrust, Aeronef and 6mm Sci-Fi models

They do a nice-looking range of WW1 Belgians, which to me at least look ideal for VSF "Ruritanian" style troops, with only a little work on the rifles to "back-engineer" them. The cavalry are also very useful, with Lancers in Czapkas etc  8)

Not bad price at £6.00 for a pack of 6 or £1.50 for single models.

I'm definitely tempted, but have no idea on their height. Has anyone got any and if so, do you have a comparison pic with Foundry/Copplestone etc?

Cheers  :)

I do not have any but have been tempted myself. I have seen them in the flesh so to speak at shows at they did not strike me as being too small. I think they would be a decent match up.

My brother-in-law has a bunch of 'em.

They mix very well with Great War Miniatures, both height and heft-wise. Very nice figs - and they do Belgian cavalry!!!

(No picture, unfortunately. Summat wrong with the camera.)

EDIT - go and do the clicky thing here:

Ah, thanks. Of course, I should have looked at the WWI board before posting  ::)

In my (admittedly West Bromwich Albion standard) defence, I don't do WWI, so don't tend to visit there.

They do look to be compatible with the major 28mm Victorian ranges, so that's very good news  :D

You can see them in my VSF project 'The Forces of Free Norway', as the Belgian uniform was as close as I could find to the Norwegian uniforms used in 1900, and I did a comparison shot for someone not too long ago...

Here they are grouped in my full forces photo - 2nd picture in the post.

And the comp pic is on the second page of this thread.

Hope that proves to be of assistance - if you need more, I can try and shoot some more photos.

Thanks!

I had seen and marvelled those lovely pics of your Norwegians, but having a brain like a sieve, I'd forgotten they were Brigade Models  :(

They look even better with a good paint job, so I'll certainly get some in the future  :D
