Back to Basics?
A new player, our first cooperative game and a couple of new warbands - so why not go back to the original rule book and play "The Mausoleum" as it's the first scenario. Playing cooperatively, we followed the warband creation using the "Perilous Dark" rules and agreed that to generate random monsters from treasure tokens we would roll two D20, rather than the usual one. Being the first outing of the new warbands none of the characters are named ...
The "Witch" warband comprised of wizard and apprentice, thief, archer, infantryman and treasure hunter. The "Necromancer" warbands was fairly similar having wizard and apprentice, thug, archer, infantryman and treasure hunter. The starting positions would be opposite board edges.

The Necromancer Warband

The game area
After placement of special treasure tokens, ordinary tokens and two random skeletons we were ready to play. The Necromancer, thug and archer set off a pace towards the first token, whilst the Witch and a couple of her accomplices did the same.

The Witches apprentice and infantry women head off towards the first treasure token ...

... and end up encountering an armoured skeleton.
On the other side of the board, the Necromancer and his infantry man and treasure hunter investigate one of the special treasure tokens.

And are rewarded with a skeleton!

The Witch manages to cast her telekinesis spell and moves one of the treasure tokens closer to the board edge.

Whilst the Necromancer deals with a random encounter with a ghoul.
Once all the treasure counters were claimed and any wandering monsters dispatched, the warbands, made it back to their base and sorted out the treasure. As a cooperative game, we pooled the discovered potions and equipment ready for use in the next adventure.
Most of the ruins are either MDF kits from Blotz or Items from Gale Force 9. Miniatures are from various manufacturers and the cobblestone mat is from Deep Cut Studios.
