Really this is what 6mm has always aspired to. Never seen a 6mm army looking this good before. Ever.

That's very kind, Matt! :)

Not much done, but worth an update anyways.

A new dolly for the body is done. Probably i'll have to thicken the ankles again, but the overall shape is much more believable, and reposes better too.

With that, i tried to pose the figures that required the fewer extra components: bersekers!

The quality is good enough to be printed for 15mm!

I've been super lazy tho, at this point I realize I should have done an entirely new faction at least!

Well, stay tuned.

Ah! and some pictures of a recent game of what is called for now "Hold the Ranks!". It's our little game we use for the range(s), but the name is subject to change.

Cheers again,

Jack

Some experiments and trees!

Starting with a VERY good modular-tree plugin for blender and building up from them, i managed to create some interestingly shaped trees.
A LOT of work is involved after the scripts generates a basic shape, but still it's a great starting point.
The very first iteration wasn't much interesting, but after a few tries i got to a better level:

Painted, with a bit of Woodland Scenic, they do their job well.

And with the help of some hacky friend I modified the script for my purposes, and another whole lot of work, I had better and even more detailed trees!

Now I have to play with the parameters to generate more interesting shapes, then start to manually detail all of them again. Wish me luck! :)

Cheers
Jack

They are cool - when I saw the title, I was expecting Treemen / Ents (hint, hint...)

Nice looking trees, and it’s always great to get a new game on the table...doubly so when you‘ve produced the figures for it

Great looking trees. Your skills with the 3d printer are really coming along nicely and the end results are proof of that.

Jack

This is insanity speaking … but this project of yours has me considering 6mm.  And I swore I would never move from 15mm.

You are like a crack dealer, my man, specially with all this eye candy.

Apologies for the threadomancy, but I indeed started again workign a bit in this setting-scale. In truth, i'm now aiming at 10mm gaming (since it's more popular and works better with historical stuff IMHO - I stick to 6mm for scifi though!)... I've started a new thread for the vikings i'm working on, but it's worth adding a note here anyways!

Here's the new thread: https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=138718.new#new

(I will post here for non-viking related stuff nonetheless!)

Cheers
Jack
