Woo, I think I'm going to enjoy this.

I have also thought about doing NVA and West Germans using the excellent looking Underfire minis.

Hey commissar,

I have a few figures, they have suffered some under conversions but I could send them over, they're also from Undefire methinks. Butler's Printed Models and Paint and Glue have a few vehicles in your scale as well. 3d printed though!

Part from that, following with interest!  :)

Good luck with this project.

I have to admit to just basecoating the NVA, as the raindrop pattern is stumping me.

(Weird coincidence, on the way home from Salute 2019, there was a bloke getting off the train wearing an NVA raindrop pattern jacket).

How about http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=121495.msg1527029#msg1527029 for your T55s?

Of you like the modelling side of the hobby, Tamiya have recently released a T55 in 1/48 scale.

John Hollyoak and Ultravaillasmurf. Do you guy know if those options would do for a T55AM?

As for painting I am currently at using Vallejo Green Grey for the uniform with GW Agrex wash for a table top quality look. Also using VA bronze Green for uncovered helmet and web gear. I tried to do the rain pattern lines and it was ether to light to be seen, or just turned into blotches, so applying KISS to it.  lol

Thanks Ragnar, They are decent figs so far.

And FreakyFenton, What kind of conversion work did you do to your NVA?

For Rich H's version, it would be best to ask him, but as Empress is definitely moving to a Cold War range (hooray) I would hope so.

I am interested in your uniform colour - I took the colour from what is now Ospreys Warsaw Pact Ground Forces book
and used Humbrol Desert Tan (which also matched the example I saw).

I am going to have to watch Deutschland 83 again...

Yeah I heard that they were planning on doing some 80s UK. So we will see what else they have planed.
Here are some test photos by the way. They still need a lot of work and I believe the last 2 I painted up last night were with German Beige instead of Green Grey.  :?

As for inspiration, I am also using that osprey. Some photos I found online and this http://camopedia.org/index.php?title=East_Germany

And I have yet to see Deutschland 83, think I will have to buy the first season to give it a try.

Luckily Deutschland 8x is available on All4 in the UK (okay on 83 and 86 only so far).

Good start on the figures.

You should paint them up as well.  lol
Good to know about the show, but I just paid for it on my Amazon prime account. So will be watching it there.
And I think I might use the Adventures in unorganized hobbies as my YouTube channel name. Keep my public and private separate you know.

Random though/question. Does any one know what Spain's mission in a mid to late 80s cold war gone hot would be? I know they joined NATO in 82, and had lots of AMX, m47 and m48 tanks. Along with tons of m113s.
And that they had structured their force primarily for territorial Defense with 3 division's in a interdiction force role.
