That Darn Cat
« on: August 02, 2009, 06:11:40 AM »
There is something about this miniature that I'd love to put in a game.

Does anyone else have him?

Paul, you're going to get some of my money soon.  ;)

Yes, quite a lot of people have supported the Tearoom by buying that miniature.

I have one, and definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a fun miniature. Mine is good company for Slug Eat Your Face.

I got a couple (still unpainted, sorry Paul!).

Be warned, that little fellow is actually quite a big fellow. He may only be 20mm tall, but he's a lot chunkier that he looks in the photo.

Greetings

I find he has a lot of character though  :D
I think I have two of them (or is it only one? I don't remember, must be getting old).

"He may only be 20mm tall, but he's a lot chunkier that he looks in the photo."

Isn't it true that most photos make us all look "chunkier"?

I'm still going to have to get one or two. I feel like I owe it to Paul for all the helpful and inspirational material on his site. He's given me hordes of ideas.

I painted one in traditional colours...

Unfortunately that's the only pic I hastily took before giving the mini as a present. (Well, there's also this one, illustrating the amazing power of magnets.)

Fortunately, I still have another for painting and keeping. :)

Interessting, and giving me strange ideas how to improve wargaming.

Is it Spiderman, is it Spider-Pig? No It's Spider-Matakishi.

Then we could imagine a certain someone had just asked Garfield about what had happened to the lasagna that was left to cool on the counter.

Admittedly, I've not procured myself one yet, but it's definitely on the list. Matakishi's made himself an awesome website, so it's only justice to do so :).

Oh, aye, its a worthwhile thing to have and supports a great and inspirational site. I just thought it was worth pointing out that if you were expecting a cat that would fit with 28mm minis, you might be in for a surprise.

Unless you want to paint him as a rather rotund sabretooth or something...  lol That would be cool.

It's a little cute mini and I love it, just like the whole site of Paul and his way of doing wargaming.

or something...yes...I have an idea already :)

There are many, many miniature metal Matakishis out there but only a few photos :(

I think I'll have a competition: Paint him, photograph him and submit him and there'll be judging and prizes. There's an email link to me on my site's front page. Advance warning for my Lead Adventure chums, I'll announce the competition in a week or so when I figure out the prizes. I think I should have a standard category for ones painted in the black and white colour scheme and an open category for other, more innovative ideas and colours.

Oh, currently awaiting new stock so orders will be held until he arrives from Australia but ordering early will ensure you get one from the next batch (of which there aren't many) and won't have to wait longer.

I guess it's about time I got off my lazy butt and picked up a few.  Thinking one will make a great present for someone I know.
