Castle Finally Finished (pandemic painting)
« on: June 10, 2020, 09:46:44 PM »
As has happened to many of us wargamers, the pandemic has seen me dusting off all sorts of unfinished projects. I decided to throw myself into finally finishing my castle. I started the project shortly after Fall In back in 2017 where I played in a game in which I had to help defend a castle from besiegers. It was a great time, and I left the game knowing one thing: I had to acquire my own castle and replicate the fun at home with my friends.

You can see the entire thing on my blog, Scrum in Miniature: https://miniaturescrum.blogspot.com/2020/06/the-castle-pandemic-painting-part-ii.html

Well that's just impressive. That's a hell of a project and no mistake. Looks like it'd make for some incredible games - not just big rank and flank, but also with rulesets which can take advantage of the (beautifully painted) room interiors.

Would love to see some batreps with that, when you get around to playing with it :) Do you plan to use it with a gaming mat, or a fully modular board?

Ah, I saw this on Facebook!
What a lovely project. I was very close to buying one of those castles from someone but I hesitated and it got snapped up. Unfortunately I think getting one to the UK is pretty costly.

Agree with the above poster - skirmish or RPG reports in that castle would be wonderful.

Thanks for the kind words, gents, as well as the encouragement for future game reports. I'll post some when we end up playing with this castle (which I hope is soon...this pandemic is playing havoc with my gaming, as is true for all of us).

Yours is a really good looking rendition of that Hudson & Allan built I fell in love with! I am happy to have gotten my paws on one too...  :D

Look great, I have mine since they were first made and have just started it (well almost done) fun kit.  I have also done the Wizard tower and the fortified farm.
