During a clear out a few of weeks ago I found a box full of my old Garrison 25mm figures that have lain unused and unseen for about 35 years.  They were bought for a club campaign that never really got started.  After dusting and washing them I decided to refurbish the paintwork.  This was not as easy as I thought but I found or mixed colours that were close enough.

They came from the Garrison Sword and Sorcery Range.  The units have some damaged figures and other figures converted to be officers or a random figure used as an officer.

I cannot remember buying any archers to support them so if anyone has any suitably sized figures from the Garrison Sword and Sorcery range I'd be interested in purchase or exchange see http://www.miniatures-workshop.com/lostminiswiki/index.php?title=Sword_and_Sorcery

SS43 Tarun Immortal with SS45 Tarun Standard Bearer

SS49 Vanha Pikeman

SS51 Vanha Guard

SS51Vanha Guard with plumes removed

Northmen - Painted in blues as befits the denizens of the frozen north (they were mercenaries)
SS4 Northman with Mace

SS9 Northman with axe.

Great job on those. I used to have lots of them back in the day, your pictures make me regret selling them on. Are they still produced today?

I wish that they were.  They ancients ranges were in limited production until about 2014 when they were "retired".

That is a shame, they have so much old school charm to them.

Wow, those guys are awesome! I have a few of them, always looking for more.

I discovered the molds had been bought and the company kinda sustained - just as they were shutting down. That guy has a blog and still produces some for himself, but as far as I can tell he has no plans to start selling them again. Truly a shame.

He is a prolific blogger, though!

I looked and looked at the Hyborian figures for ages and just when I decided to go for it, they went out of production.

Well "completed" may be an exaggeration as I would like to add some camels sometime.

The Golden Lions Cataphracts

The Elephants and spare crews (there are 5 elephants in the rear rank)

The Red Lion Heavy Cavalry

The White Eagle Heavy Cavalry

The Horse Archers

The Red Griffin Archers

The Blue Griffin Archers

Skirmishing Amazons (by Minot not Garrison)

The Devi

The Satraps

A couple of Sorceresses

The painting style matches the style used in the original figures from way back when.

Lovely stuff, busy working on 2 similar projects, one using Garrison based for Royal Armies and the other using Minifigs! Great to see old figures getting a new lease of life, although currently having more luck with the Minifigs.

Thankfully got a tip off from DW about some Saracens on eBay. Repainted as the Turans they were meant to be! Painted and based as per Royal Armies of the Hyborian Age, glad to get hold of Garrison figures, one standard bearer given a sword ad the Officer.

Excellent!  Good purchase and very nicely painted.  Nice to hear that you still use "Royal Armies" rules.

I have some of the armoured camels. I had the riders for 30 years before I got the camels!
