Gripping Beast Roman Plastics for an ADLG army
« on: July 01, 2020, 05:38:24 PM »
I think I am going to build some late Romans using the Gripping Beast plastics and I am wondering about how useful the plastic boxes are.

They come with 8 frames with one armoured, 2 unarmoured and 2 bow (which is way too many bow).

I can use the armoured for legionaries and the unarmoured for Auxilia but that leaves me with half as many legionaries.

How did you build your late Romans from this box?

From the pictures I have seen of the GB late Romans,  I think I prefer to use the GB Saxon thegns as armored legionaries (when using plastics). The box contains enough heads in post Roman style helmets.

If I was doing metal I would consider using some of Aventine's new Byzantine range (who are obviously themselves late Romans).
