Thanks Mike :)

Yeah, one sitting of about five hours for 12 mini's. This doesn't include varnishing and basing which always seem to take a lot longer  lol

Ta. It would be impossible to get the requisite numbers on the tabletop without speed painting them. :)

That is so true.   I really like your shields so I may have to change my plan on those.   Mine are really fast to paint but seem rather blah and dark in comparison. Oh well.

They were quite quick to paint. Basically just think of random triangle shapes for the second layer then mark the final highlights from the outer part of the shield inwards so the size of the line thins as you make the brushstroke.

I used the Foundry Deep Brown Leather Triad for ease. A word of caution on the Foundry triads. I bought most of mine when the original paints were released and they are of decent quality.

My foundry set is rather old as well. I have replaced quite a few tops but in general the paint has help up well.  Not sure I would purchase more given the other threads about their current quality and the horrendous scarlet triad I picked up a year ago at a convention.

I was really speed painting, one coat of red brown and a wash on the shields.  Turned out rather dark.

I will have to give Deep Brown Leather a go on the next group.

Yeah, I fell victim to the WWII paint set  :'( I could not persuade then to replace them even on the grounds of them not being fit for purpose as I opened all the lids when I bought the set. To be honest, given the number of pots it would have been slightly insane not to open them  o_o
