Well, what do you know! Returned home after a long day at the university (yes yes I´m a wuss and weakling) and what do I find sitting on top of my letterbox, a company of Quar infantry.

Yay yay yay!

Last week I got a BIG box from Mongoose with a full range (well nearly, I'd bought a few packs in advance) of their GMC1-minis. Last call before they closed down their sales of minis...   :|

Mongoose is closing down?

Finally received my first bunch of Elizabethan Seadogs, formerly known as Robson clan. It's one of the smaller packs from a Border Reivers range by Vendel Miniatures. I wanted to see some samples, especially as I had my "painting problems" with Gripping Beast's stuff before - and it seems to be the same sculptor here. I'm quite pleased by the miniatures' appearance and the bunch of weapons to choose from is very appreciated. Now we'll see how these minis turn out on my painting desk...

Here's a quick shot showing the lead as it came from the bag. There are also two hounds, which were separatly purchased and will be of use as generic items for several periods. Other people may be interested, so I've added a Foundry pirate (left upper corner) for size comparison:

NB: These items have gone through kind of an odyssey, a first sending became lost. But the fine chaps of Vendel have dealt with it in a very accomodating way. Best references to them!

No, they are just not selling miniatures anymore. Their rules will still be sold. (Unless something has changed since I last heard.)

From what I understand, they plan to go back to producing miniatures later, sometime next year at the earliest.

But for now they need to cut back on that stuff and get the company ship shape again.

Mongoose want to be a miniatures company, but their main income is from roleplay books.

Received some Old glory Thracians from an ebay bid :)

Alos got some nice Eureka middle east and Indian civilians for my Afghanistan game (like the ones poly did) they are very nice and match well with Mongrel minis, the kids and men from the indian range are gems and could be used for a lot of periods

A lucky find by my lovely Wife today, minis of K9 and a Slitheen. From the new Doctor Who random miniatures game.

So I quickly cropped them off the bases and replaced K9's bendy rubber tail with a pin.

All for a few pence from a charity shop.   :D
