I got back from Salute, where I resisted manfully, except for...
The new Black Scorpion aliens... I shall use them to hunt my cave people
Vendel mastiffs... to add some doggy bite to my Reivers.
Some Grenadier (EM4) Copplestone-sculpted barbarians to supplement my Copplestone and Reaper cave people.
A couple of packs of 'Imperial' troops from a Spanish GW-alike called Gamezone who I hadn't come across before. Gorgeous figures. Will see how well they fit in with the rest of my Elizabethans.
The Brigade Models lady pirate pack by Mr Hicks.
Pretty restrained I thought
I also checked out the Shadowforge and Maidenhead 'Tribals' for potential cave dwellers. I can report that both ranges have figures who would do very nicely as surrogate cave girls. But Shadowforge are TINY. And I mean some of them look more like 20mm, never mind 25mm - def not 28mm compatible. Maidenhead are a better fit height-wise, but slightly 2 dimensional.
I decided against.
I lovingly held the preview pack of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and they look the business, but then I figured at 30 quid, just to sit in the lead mountain for 2 years, I might as well wait until the range is released in small doses and pick the figures I really want. They do have some ace boiler-suited henchmen though.
Then finally I blew it all, by succumbing to a bl**dy huge 'Figures in comfort' carry case and assorted trays. Ah well, there goes the budget.

But on the whole, I thought Salute was pretty good this year.
I did manage to resist the Perrys and their plastics. They looked pretty darn nice though - and I don't even like plastic or the ACW!
