One miniature is too many, and a thousand are not enough...

I'm back from Cold Wars with new toys. I wound up with ten of the Pontoonier Ghurkas by Mr. Hicks even though I really have little use for them. They are beauties and the pack attacking with kukris is especially nice!

I also bought the new release of Eureka "Wars of the French Revolution" figures, French grenadiers. The vignette of the grenadier rifling a wounded comrade's cartridge box is well done.

I also picked up two more of the Blue Moon wagons for terrain and objectives.I took so many painting comissions I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to paint any of it sadly.

Received an order from Perry miniatures.

Crew for my Aeroneff -
Two packs of Black watch.
I was supposed to get a gardener gun and navy crew but instead I received some normal British infantry even though I paid the extra for the gun.
I have sent an email and I am now waiting on a reply.
The figures themselves are very nicely detailed but they will require a lot of work before they can be painted. There are a lot of flash lines and bits and pieces to be removed. The scabbard of the officer’s sword is also bent but it looks moulded in that position and will have to be cut from the leg before I can straighten it. They were also not very well protected in the boxes with all the bayonets severely bent and in some cases the rifle severely bent as well. When straightened I am not sure how long they will last as gaming pieces.
Over all not that impressed with the service but nice figures.

Changed my mind about the service.
Received a very quick reply and the missing pack is on its way and I get to keep the British Infantry. Don't know what to do with them?
I forgot to mention that the original order came with two plastic British infantry as well, very nice. But again no use for them.

Reaper 'Fire Giant Queen' by Werner Klocke. Amazing figure. She's for a Goliath PC in a D&D 4E game I am running.

Reaper 'Boris the Evil Warrior', for the same game. This is for my 9 year old son who, when asked what he wanted for his PC replied "A big sword and he needs to look evil, even though he isn't"  :P

Artizan Jeep. I am hoping to get both jeeps painted up, along with some 'away from the front line' vignettes for a competition.

Various Artizan artillery crewmen for the same project.

9 Black Tree Doctor Who minis - the 7th and 8th Doctors, some 'late' Cybermen, and three companions - Sarah Jane, Grace, and Ace. Ordered three months ago, various chaser emails sent, and there were still six minis missing!

Also, a GW chainsword for a conversion project from ace LAFer Keeper - arrived 24 hours after he said he'd put it in the post. Now that's what I call service!

I've read a lot of not so nice things about their service. I think I'll keep my business elsewhere.

If you want Doctor Who minis though, you don't have much choice in the matter.....
