A second to none purchase arrived today some Hasslefree Goblins, the armoured ogre and some Freebie Ogres due to a small mistake in packing the wrong figure form an earlier order, now how could anyone complain with service like that :D Top marks for Hasslefree, more than usual from me

Just got the Perry Miniatures' plastic ACW Infantry and Cavalry boxes.  Nice figures with oodles of conversion potential (as seen in Wargames Illustrated) but BIG horses!  :o Make my Dixons look like Shetland ponies! I expect they are closer in size to real horses but I wish they were about 10% smaller - they'd look a little more in proportion.  The infantry can barely see over the saddle! I know that some original photos show this relationship between man and horse but I think more pictures show the rider is a fair bit taller than his saddle.  I don't think they'll mix well with most ranges, so I hope that their own metal cavalry figures will have the larger horses to match.

Forgot! (It's almost 2:30 in the morning, after all!) Also picked up some of the Twins' French Napoleonic 1815 packs.  Gorgeous (in a virile sort of way!) figures!  I only hope I can do them justice!

My missing WWI command packs arrived from Gripping Beast yesterday along with a free "Digger" for the delay - cheers to Darren at the Beast for some great service.

Anzacs and Turks sprayed up ready to paint later today hopefully

Arrived yesterday, a pack of Ninja, from Perry Miniatures.

Much like Zombies or Pirates, Ninja can improve any scenario.  :)

Big birthday purchase from Old Glory just arrived, explorers, tribesmen, chieftains and such for Darkest Africa lost tribes adventures, and a couple of packs of Foundry askaris.

What sucks is, aside from a brief check to make sure its all present and correct, I can't play with any of it yet as I have to wait until the actual day to get it officially. That's nearly a month!

Prof, can we have a "stamps foot like a five-year old" smiley?

Yes, those ones and the bearers pack and "Masked Warriors 3" too.

From what I could see when I checked to make sure they were all present and correct before they went away to be wrapped, they are nice enough. They seem to be more like the Blue Moon ranges as far as size and quality of sculpting goes, rather than the smaller OG historicals.

Hard to tell without getting them out of the packets, but they looked like what I've come to expect from OG, some nice sculpts, some mediocre, and a real game of chance with quality. I did notice that in one pack where there were a couple of doubles, one was perfect and one was covered in mould lines and flash.

Essentially, I would bank on being able to use two thirds of a standard pack's contents without having to spend ages filing, filling gaps and altering poses into something resembling human anatomy.

For the price, I reckon its worth the risk, but be prepared to put a few in the "melt it down for home casting" pile.    ;)
