Joint purchase items arrived to day.

For me:

..and for Rhoderic also a GPR30 and:

I, and probably you, knew this already but I have to repeat that the Baluchis are really lovely and I was happy to see, which I hadn't noticed, that several of them are armed with Martinis and hunting rifles. Since I am going to use them for a 2oth century setting I am going to arm some of the jezzailers with Lee-Metfords/Enfields, Mosin-Nagats and Mauser Kar98s. Now I need to make a decision about Old Glory Pathan cavalry...

Good to hear. I've been sculpting some jars, vases, pots etc. myself out of Sculpy for my marketplace scene, but I have a tendency to make them too big. Those smaller ones are just what I need.

For some reason Miniaturicum and Battlefield Berlin sell these as a normal-priced pack (€15 and €16.50 respectively) when it's only €8.50 in the Foundry webstore.

@Hammers: I'm not planning to visit Stockholm in the next few weeks at least, so you can tuck my figures away for now. I'm not in a hurry to get them.

Really? I've never seen DA Baluchis armed with anything but matchlocks. I thought I had seen the whole range. In fact I think I own the whole range. Are there some they didn't put pictures of in the catalogue? All the ones there seem to have matchlocks too.

Perhaps they are Zanzibaris which are similar?

Ah. Yes. I use these names interchangeably. As I understand it the Baluchi were not necessarily ethnically so but it was rather a common name for a mix of muslims of arab-indian-swahili origin involved in the slave trade which had one of its most important strongholds on Zanzibar. (The court of Oman was once placed at Zanzibar).

Ah right, I get you. Quite true.

The two figure ranges are quite distinct, however, if you look at them. The "Zanzibari" ones have a much more African Arab/Swahili look to them (some of them clearly have black African ancestry), while the "Baluchis" give off more of an Arabian peninsula and Indian subcontinent vibe.

Quite so. I feel that can be painted away.

You have too much money if you can afford them all at once. But I must admit I was toying with the idea to get them myself. Cool selection.

My BPRD project grows like a huge growing thing...

Just got two packs of WestWind SWAT types to use as uh, well, SWAT types, and some Hasslefree goodness to bolster the ranks of the science/research division.

(And a couple of other figs that were just too cool not to have.)
