Oh yeah, seen that. And Mr Vampire, Tsui Hark's Vampire Hunters, Chinese Ghost Story and about a dozen others. Jet Li's The Evil Cult is worth a watch too, but makes no sense at all.

Looks like its time to delve into the DVD collection again and refresh my memory. Oh the things I have to do for this hobby...

I was just perusing the Curteys website (to assist in your research) and the pirate captain and crew look like they would work for the basis of a warband, let alone the thousands of other figures they have. This small project of yours could escalate... ;)

 lol lol

I could be persuaded in the fullness of time to bring a small warband to the table. (If I knew what was needed to buy to make up a band.) I do own a number of the Monolith Chines buildings from my Boxer rebellion days, so could add those to the mix. If you planned this for BLAM 09 I reckon I could do a warband.

Cool beans, let me have a think about how the warbands would go together, and I'll get back to you. You'd need no more than 12 minis, I think, maybe 15 at the absolute most.

First orders from Vendel miniatures and very pleased with the figures :

- 4 wolves : basic sculpts, very huge -as big as GW ones, but ideal models for true wargs.
- the giant bear  :-* : great sculpt, it's in resin though (but it's good for shipping cost...)
& seven mastiffs  :-* ;D :-* these dogs are so cute ! I'm not too keen with this expression but it's really a "must have" : very versatile minis.

And to top it off, Roland Hynd, the new owner of Vendel, is very helpful.

@ Lowtar (or Karl ?  ;)
These are exactly the ones I would like to complete my FYW force, but yours should be painted far sooner than mine  :'(
Have you had the time to see the Perry indians despite "confisquation" ? How do they match with the Conquests ones ?

@ WK

Is it not huge ? Is it not mean ?

Foundry DA figure in the middle for scale, and sorry for the crappy pics

I did have to err Quality check them ::) and they are a very good match almost identical in stature etc  :D

The Crusader minis are taller but the proportions are quite alike and as they will be spearate units should look good on the table.

Who said I would paint them beofre you...have you seen my lead mountain ;D

Of course you can trust "les rosbifs" ;) starting on the Compagne Marine but painting them as Canadain Milice as suggested, the Osprey has the ideal pictures in it and is a rivetting read and great starter book on the period :D
