Most probably SPG support as they were usually tasked with cracking fixed defences or built up areas
ISU-152 is always fun .

In 1944, an engineering tank regiment or a flamethrower tank regiment was included in the Assault engineer-sapper brigades. The engineering tank regiment had 22 T-34 tanks, 18 of them had a PT-3 mine sweep. The flamethrower-tank regiment had the same number of T-34s, of which 18 were flamethrower tanks.
