Cheers.  Nice report.  The slides are a good way to do a battle report.

Your excellent slides made it easy to understand what was going on, and I enjoyed your story!

yes, fun looking game.

do like your slide-presentation approach too, particularly that you can control the speed of change.

Thanks all.

I have gotten a lot of nice comments on these reports.  Would it be helpful to do another presentation showing how I do them?  I don't have a blog, so a similar link would be all there was.

There isn't a lot to it, but I did have to learn some things.  And maybe someone could help improve the process.

Andy this is an excellent way to present an AAR. I’m sat here feeling awful, unable to read text but your report was easy to look at and follow even through the mess my head/body’s in.
Thank you,

Hope you're feeling better soon.  Hope the first page with lots of text didn't almost scare you away.  I probably should have broken it up, interleaved with some pictures or something.

That would be great.  I don't have a blog either and would like to have a  good way of presenting battle reports.

I'll put together something about how i do it, but basically:
I made a Google Slides doc
I download the pictures onto my computer.  (May be a better way to do this.)
I use Google Slides Toolbox add on (free version) to add one slide per image.
I adjust each one to fit as best as can.  Most are just make fit , but some include zooming and panning a bit.
I usually make a text box I like and copy and paste it to each slide.
I add arrows, make them wide, give them a color, and group them with the text box.
I add animation for each text box and arrow I want to appear.  I wish I could set default to Appear and Fast, but have to adjust each one.

Here is how I do my battle reports.  However, this one is much more dull than the actual reports.  It is pretty much the same list I have above.

Thank you both to Ethelred and Andy. I’m not doing great but much better than I could be or anyone else has managed so it’s all good. Have had to retire and give up all daft sports like canoeing, climbing, surfing but have always had miniatures and gaming to fall back on.  Whilst I’m not always up to doing much on my own projects members of decent forums (LAF and ......um....ooh the old Battlegroup forum before it was killed by cyber idiots) and in particular seeing people’s projects progress and give them joy is very motivational. And insomnia and miniature wargaming blogs were made for each other  ;)

I’ve only ever done straight up lists of pictures/descriptions before as AARs but I really like the slideshow approach and will consider if I ever get to do face to face gaming again and it’s worth blogging about.

Keep up the good work (I think I need a captive opponent),

BALM
