Spanish guerillas peninsula campagin question
« on: August 13, 2009, 03:19:17 AM »
how well do the front rank Guerillas,  stand up to perry and offensive mina size wise?
And dose any one else make 28 guerillas for peninsula campagin?
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Sizewise they are comparable to Perry (don't know about Offensive). But their style is somewhat different, bulky so to speak. Not everyone's cup of tea.
Some people (including me) also take figures from the Perry's Carlist range. There are a few miniatures in 'informal dress' that can happily represent guerrilleros for the earlier campaign. Here are mine:

I'm no expert in the area, but I *think* you could get away with using some of the Perry AWI militia for guerilleros also (and some of the new Eureka Tyroleans with minor modifications). I love Front Rank, but I personally don't think the style mixes well with the more slender ranges at all.

Falcon or Eagle Figures produce some nice Spanish which I think fit in.More regulars however you can mix in a few quite neicley as disbanded/stranded troops

I'm with the Mad Doc.
The Perry Carlist war figures in civilian dress are great for the peninsula. I think there is also a Pack mule in the civilian set.
@ Mad Doc Morris - great painting Doc.

As for others Redoubt Enterprises do a range of Guerillas in their Nap. range but the figures are a bit rough compared to the Perrys - although that's only my opinion.
I think Irregular might also do some - same comment as above.

I have the Redoubt Spanish Guerrillas and yes, they are rough sculpts. I'd rather have Front Rank or Perry, seeing them now. But I have them and they're painted, so...they're excellent!

Thanks, I am thinking of snaging a little bit of the redoubt and perry ranges, and just convert a few of the Eureka Tyroleans for my band of guerillas.
