Weekend of SF gaming
« on: September 28, 2020, 05:12:41 PM »
Had a Blast (totally owning that pun) playing 3 online Fistful of Lead games with people from all over!

The Battle of Covid Prime!

We ran 3 linked games with the out come of each having a direct effect on the following game. Game #1 was a Starfighters! with the Rebellion trying to break through the Imperial fighters to lend ground support for game 2. The Empire needed to get much needed reinforcements to the planet. The Rebels were wiped out with only a few ships lost to the Empire.

Game #2 Galactic Heroes saw the Rebels hurting for air support while they attacked the Governor's office, while the Empire enjoyed reinforcements to take the landing zone.

Again, the Rebels were brutally repulsed.

Game #3 Bigger Battles llooked like the Rebels might make a come back. Then, some well played cards got the Empire back in the fight and ultimately winning. Covid Prime was defended, and still on lockdown.

A few pics here, the rest at the blog: http://baronvonj.blogspot.com/2020/09/virtual-recruits-photo-dump.html

What is this game? Have I missed something?

Oh good sir, please don't tell me you've never heard of Fistful of Lead and all our supplements like Starfighters!, Galactic heroes and Bigger Battles....
A quick search on this very forum or a Google will tell you much, but here's our site:

Nice campaign you got there......

I like how the various game systems connected together into a larger narrative.

Yes, traits are the same across the systems, so your Galactic Heroes Hero can step in and lead a unit in Bigger Battles.

And the games are miniatures agnostic. Doesn't have to be SW universe. Just as easy play in a grim, dark future or my favorite, Retro SciFi.
Here's a variety of games:

A quick question about the cards for Galactic Heroes & Wasteland Warriors; apart from the artwork, are they the same? I don’t have either yet, but if I preferred the look of one over another for general Sci-Fi, would it matter which?

Commander, having bought a couple different sets, I can respond.  Yes, what is actually on the cards is the same for all the FfoL variants.  Language may differ for flavor, as do the images.

If in the UK, buy your rules and cards from Oshiro Model Terrain, who act as agent over here :D
