I must admit that at least once in the past I have spotted a tiny blemish like that and used photo-editing software to remove it from the picture rather than paint to remove it from the the figure.
Sometimes when I feel I am 'done' with a figure I just really can't be bothered to send it back to the painting table.

I have a Masai blowing a kudu horn. One day I noticed that kudu horns are generally black rather than the light brown I did his in. Poor lad has been waiting on the painting table for about four years to get his horn sorted. Sometimes it's better to just say nothing and carry on.
