Nightwatch - part 4

A small update to my Nightwatch Project with some experiments in basing, and a few background characters added.  You can see more on my blog here:

Actually, I'm sorry to do this, but this is bugging me. On your blog you say that the figure in your first photo is from a Warlord Games metal marching musketeers pack. I'm afraid I wasn't aware Warlord made one and I can't find one on their website. Am I going mad?

Thanks, Paul  :) .

Good spot.  I’m sure it is a Warlord metal, but I can’t find it on the site either.  It seems to have disappeared in one of the recent website overhauls.  There used to be 4 metal packs of musket with rest.  A firing and a marching, and then a ‘veteran’ version of each with more campaign style of dress.  I’d used quite a few for my TYW units.

I will contact Warlord and find out if it’s a mistake in the web catalogue.

Thanks. I might be interested in some musketeers with muskets at the shoulder. I noticed that the musketeers engaged in hand-to-hand fighting seem to have disappeared too. Maybe Warlord Games are doing some re-moulding.

Actually, I've spent a few minutes on the web and I'm pretty sure that the figure is a Warlord figure, as you say, and that what you say above is correct - Warlord brought out firing/loading and marching sets in both ordinary and veteran versions. The marching sets seem to have disappeared from their website. All the pictures I've seen, however, show the musketeers in hats, so I wonder whether you've done a head or head-gear swap?

Hi Paul, I checked my ‘lead mountain’ and I found an unopened pack of the marching musketeers, and the chap in question is from this pack.  All figures in the pack come bear headed, with a selection of hats, (very handy) so I must have found a suitable helmet for my figure.

I contacted Warlord, and they are looking in to it.  Their initial thought was that I was right and the marching pack(s) and missing from the web store.

Many thanks. I think the marching packs are missing from the webstore too, as are the mounted herald and the musketeers engaged in hand-to-hand- fighting. I wonder whether something's gone wrong.

Hi Paul, I see from the latest Warlord newsletter that the marching pose is back!  I note in the newsletter article it says “back by popular demand”  :D

I will ask about the other packs you have pointed out.

Many thanks. I hadn't noticed that the pack had been brought back. I'll have to get one. They look to be nice figures.

I sent an e-mail to Warlord a week or so ago pointing out that at least 3 packs seemed to be missing from their website. In their reply they suggested that it was accidental and that they'd bring all the packs back.
