Great work on the DPM. A couple of guys I was at school with were in the Falklands, both in the RM.  One of them was mentioned in a memoir I read of one of the commanders, and the other one was one of the detachment of 20 at the beginning who were held up in the Governer's house until they ran out of ammo and had to surrender.

I read that most of those few who were there when the Argentines invaded went back with the task force to liberate the islands, was he one of those?

The repatriated men of Naval Party 8901 became the core of 'J' Coy 42 RM Cdo, replacing 'M' Coy which was detached to retake South Georgia.

It may be of interest to the Brethren to know Pen and Sword are publishing a controversial new book on the Falklands War. 'Secrets of Goose Green - Revealed' by Brigadier (ret'd) Harry Faversham VC. The accepted version, that the battle was won by the Parachute Regiment's traditional 'bags of smoke and in with the bayonet'... is exposed for the smokescreen it's been for the last 40 years!
Brigadier Faversham's tome brings to light the use of top secret body armour by the Paras for the first time. This claim was robustly denied by the MOD till the author produced photographic evidence taken at the time, and reproduced below with the author's kind permission.
All proceeds from the book will be used in the restoration of Faversham Hall, the family seat since 1067. On completion the Great Hall's Emporium, which houses the Brigadier's extensive toy sowjer collection will be opened to the public for a nominal admission fee.
