Napoleonic Spanish grenadier fur cap question
« on: December 02, 2020, 07:19:11 PM »
Were the long bagged grenadier fur caps still issued to units / troops (raised / recruited) after 1809?

I have found lots of images of grenadiers in fur caps dated 1809 or earlier: I don't think I've seen one specifically dated later than that. Grenadiers only units still appear in OOB after that date but, I can't find any pictures of them or descriptions of their uniforms. Did the fur cap disappear along with bicornes and white coats: if so, what were they generally replaced with (round hats / bell topped shakos)?

To be honest, I'm really struggling to get to grips with Spanish uniforms for the general period 1810 - 1812 so any help would be much appreciated.
