Vanvlak's skeleton closet
« on: January 02, 2021, 01:02:29 PM »
It's a cupboard really, but a large part of my unpainted undead (is that a double negative?) reside in there, so the skeleton part is at least truthful.

My army of the dead is not small, and in a vain attempt at getting some time for modelling, I am going to work on this project this year. With a spark of modesty I am only committing to this one project. But with a keen appreciation of hubris, I placed this in the workbench area as I know I will get sidetracked by other projects. Especially railways, which have eaten the precious little time I had for modelling in 2021.

I am even beginning in a small way, with a unit of skeletons, some of the nice old plastic Warhammer ones, with square bases and the occasional intrusion from Khemri.

It's good to be back - if I am back  ;
Pics will appear when I have a half dozen skellies - so far, one done, dutifully on the first day of the year. But that is, I think, one more model than I painted in all 2020, so... progress!

Glad to see you are back, (if you are even a little bit) working on something, look forward to many interesting posts and... pictures.

Crossover/crossrail project? so you can work with the sidetracks..or mainline, whichever pulls your time and especially your enjoyment the most.

Spend a year working on an undead army with a touch of Egyptian railway theme?

Khemri the (undead) Steam Engine?

Thanks - I've been bone idle for too long when it comes to modelling, I guess...

Thanks!
My modelling work is a train wreck at the moment - mainline, sideline and all.
Fitting them together isn't easy, though - although I don't mind anything either side of Plan 9 from outer space, added giant (28mm+) scale skeletons of dubious Egyptian provenance to H0 gauge trains, which work out at 1:87, would be pushing it.
British Rail vs the invasion of the 21 foot skeletons? I can see the film trailer already, frustrated travelers hearing a tannoy announcement 'Service has been stopped by bones on the rails'....

As for the Khemri steam tank - funny you should say that, I have one in Warmaster 10mm scale! No plans for a 28mm+ scale one though. Although that did set off an odd thought.......

3rd January, 2 models completed, 2 more on the way, it's good progress for me. I should point out that one of the completed models is a Space Marine Dreadnought which had been waoting for finishing touches for a year now.....

2 is better progress than me so far this year and 50% of my achievement last..my hobby work continues to be almost non-existent.

I get sucked into complex work projects and don't resurface - bad trait - working from home has exacerbated it into not leaving my "study" for hours - long hours.

leads to a lack of social and other things that costs me friends etc, but cannot help it, just the way my brain works, then the year ends, happy I have a job but 0 anything else.

wrong type of / bones on the track would be interesting addition to the announcement list, although still the best I ever heard was

"train delayed due to train on the line...". great, although that's preferable than not, apparently it was the wrong train, still it was funny listening to the poor guy saying it, you could hear in his voice he was thinking (hang on a minute..)

some scaled down 1:87 delays on the railway projects would be an added bit of realism?

Keep it up, and the painting,  it's all good for you apparently.
