Happy to see this thread risen from the grave...  :D

Good thinking, making the figs suitable for a number of games. I tried to do that, as well, with my post-apocalyptic and Sci-Fi figs. Actually, I'm up to 3 rules sets they can be used for -- Xenos Rampant, Wiley Games, and Space Weirdos...!  lol

I like the looks of the new figs!

Love the cryptid selection! Great mix and execution - I also love the cryptids in Dracula's America (I love the range and got almost all of it, one day I'll play some games!) and I've painted most of them, plus I have some of the Dead Man's Hand cryptids as well - the Thunderbird is still awaiting completion, as are the Wendigos :)

The multi-game options are always interesting - I'm plotting the same for a fresh post-apoc project that's in the works :)

Thanks, all! These creatures may seem a little odd to be in a faction with humans, but I do like to see painted models on the table, so as members of a gang or NPC adversaries, their odds of hitting the table increase. I'm playing a Ronin Campaign atm, but I'm hoping to pivot over to some XR (finally!) when we're done. Hopefully, this gang makes an appearance.

@Deserter - I really like the Sasquatch in the Dracula's America line, but I couldn't see it running around the Southwest. He'd be great for the North American setting for Silver Bayonet. SB - Another great title that drips in folklore creatures. I think I'm enjoying the sprinkling of creatures into human based "historical" or fictional armies over pure sci-fi and fantasy. Buuuuut what is sci-fi and fantasy if not wherever the imagination can go. I fear this R'98 project might be drifting too far into sci-fi (especially with the next piece I'm working on), but oh well. We go where inspiration takes us. And with a 4-5 year running project... that can be a few different places.

Looking forward to seeing your post-apoc project!

I think the "bigfoot" is a skunk ape, but they're too south-eastern for your purposes! My Dracula's America collection leans towards swampy Louisiana, so the smelly lad fits in pretty well in the Bayous.

My new project is based around the Atomfall videogame - a very British apocalypse, set in an Exclusion Zone the Lake District in England in the late 1950s/early 1960s. Some interesting folk horror elements in there that I'm looking forward to exploring. Really enjoyed the game and I've got minis built from several factions plus some triffids and other creatures :) I wanted to have a few minis finished painting before starting a log, hopefully in the next few weeks!

Having finally gotten to England this summer, I'm looking forward to seeing this Lake District Exclusion Zone project. Can't wait!

Great to see you back around these parts, @LeadAsbestos. I’ve got some more upgrades to all my gangs incoming. Maceface is releasing a new line to perfectly match the Dark Future and Copplestone Gaslands lines, so I might have to start in on a new gang as well.

Painted up a few loose figs for my Ninja-type faction. They are from L to R: a red ninja from the Dark Alliance Stalker set, an Elheim survivor, a street samurai troll from the old Ral Partha Shadowrun line (as an Oni), and one of the Citadel Dark Future street warrior models as a stylin’ Yakuza boss. These characters flesh out the rest of my models to make a full Xenos Rampant Detachment. I might make the Oni character one of the rare Elite Units in my collection. It seems that might make sense with the range and melee weapons he’s packing plus oni magicks. In hindsight, I wish I had painted all my ninja models red. Oh, well.

Added another touch to my Alien Invader faction, this time some reptilians and a “thing that should not be”. All three are part of the Reaper “Sliggs and Squarg” blister. With a brainy Martian, greys, and now reptilians, (and human collaborators) this faction has all the elements of a 90s ufo conspiracy.

(Ironically… I painted some eyeballs after posting this week that I don’t paint eyeballs. Ha! Not sure how they turned out, but I figured they were big enough to give a shot.)

nice beast... is this not 1/72 anymore then? I assume Reaper would be 28mm.

Thanks!

Yeah, this project is still 1/72 and always will be, but I’ve also found minis at other scales that seem to work ok with 1/72.  The second picture in the last post has a 1/72 Dark Future cultist on left and a 1/72 Copplestone wasteland warrior on the right to help with scale. The smaller greys are 15mm figs from rebel minis, while the tall Martian in the back is 28mm reaper and my latest additions, those reptilians, are smaller than human sized at 28mm, but seem to fit perfectly around human size at 1/72.

the dark future minis were lovely...

1/72 Copplestone wasteland warrior

I don't see any of these on the Copplestone site.

The wasteland warrior should be in the Gaslands range by Northstar. The figures in that range were sculpted by Mark Copplestone.

Pattus Magnus is correct.

If you’re in the US, I think you can get them from Badger Games.
