The boat looks like a small version of the scows that patrolled the rivers around Boston and some of the other east coast ports during the early months of the AWI, with cannon in the apertures and a pine tree flag on top (another one, named the Arnold was in the Delaware River and flew the first American flag - the East India Company style one).  I don't normally use FIW figures for AWI games, but the winter clothing figures and the sled vignettes look quite useful, too, for the Invasion of Canada.

Anyone else find the price per figure a little off-putting (US$ 4.00 each)?  I know you aren't going to buy huge numbers for a skirmish game, but.....
No plan survives first contact with the dice.

Ooh, do you happen to have any links with visual references? (failing my google dice rolls here this morning)

I keep waffling on getting the boat since it seems an unlikely design as early as the FIW, and especially so up north of the Mississippi.  But Rev War in Boston puts it much closer in time and geography.

I've gotten comfortable with $4 figures, especially because they're for a skirmish game.  The manufacturers won't be making their money on very large sales per customer.

Is it me.. or are these rather large figures? Doesn't look like they scale with warlord or brigade..?

Umm, yeah.  Allowing for the missing base, it even towers over the Galloping Major.

One of them would make a nice strapping sized Bon Jean milicien character figure in my collection of assorted manufacturers.

It looks like the core packs are going to be $10.50 for 4 figures. The sled teams,2 figures and sled are $6.85 in the KS. I don't know what the retail price will be. The scout and fur trapper are the single figures for $4.

I think the Leader packs (2 figures) will be $8 which is $4 a figure.
