This started with a tyre.  No idea why but I wanted to draw this tyre:


Then before long (as usual) it got out of hand.

I love this, it's perfect, perfect madness.

Dunno what it is, but the aesthetic of the "last ditch" British vehicles of 1940 just speaks to me; it's like a sort of dieselpunk Mad Max, with the designers just having been given full access to the combined parts bin of the British automotive, naval and AFV industries and told "go nuts".

Your getting as bad as me. Didn't I warn you years ago when you did some wheels for me.

I don't know why I bother I really don't

I definitely know how addictive the period is in terms of Heath Robinson vehicles.( In fact I've been asked to put the breaks on as there's huge back log of home front master's totally didn't listen to my own advice.)

I'd like to see you tackle some of the more practical vehicles such as the Bedford OX varriants, Or the Armadillo . Not the Beford version kicked out as a standard kit for most companies Rather just the pill box it's self ( the open topped version) in a flat pack form . As it's got the most potential in a game. Simply because they were built on the back of any lorry/truck that could take the wieght( not just Bedfords as some companies would have you think.) Also the were used as stationary pill boxes ( couldn't initially ger enough concrete or brick to make defensive positions.)

While your sidetracked by wheels why not a mobile search light unit. Or a sound dish station complete with the wacky trombone arrangements.

The one project that keeps coming up and I'm going to end up scratch building is a British/ European steam engine.( as simple enough jumble of shapes with minimal head ache potential for CAD sculpting. Mind you the whole wheel assembly would be easily done with your mdf ( that depends on if you can remember how to use the machine as your grown 3D CAD sculptor these day's )

The laser is still on duty. Steam engine wheels could be either 3d or laser.  I'd probably 3d it just because I'm lazy and the garage is cold. The laser is directly plugged into a genuinely antique PC running win-xp in the garage as the software is ropey but sometimes you just need to cut stuff.

TBH I'm running out of inspiration steam as it were.  I'll look at the bunkers/pillbox I'm also interested in the non-thornycroft bisons as the one at bovington is not genuine as it's on a military lorry not a civvy.

Well doesn't that just sum up Table top trains in a minute and half
I can't help but wonder if that mounting was more luck than judgement.
I pretty sure I came across a blog called Sam's Flags that actually did fictional but plausible unit Flags for all the British armoured trains.

That kind but it wasn't a hint. I've already bit on some HO train wheels on the bay of fleas . ( they've still got four days) I'm only planning on using them for speed. I'll knock up an engine in no time at all.Less than an evening I reckon. Just got to dig out the track I made . As it's not to any particular scale just it looks right an a figure base fits between the rails.( just can't remember how much space I allowed for  between the rails).

The reason I mention the search light and the sound dish sets. Is theyre novel enough for your butterfly project. With enough technical issues in parts designation and practical thickness/ rescaling in terms of practical usage rather than scale modeling.Whilst achiving an aesthetic that suggests scale. To keep you interested.

There's two challenges I think would be equally as thought provoking and tackle some complex curves.That you dislike.

Okay technically three. But by doing one you've solved the other.

If your tempted I'll make it fair .I'll sculpt some figures to go with one of them. Or figures you'd like me to do.
