Fantastic suggestions. Thanks, all!
Bummer I missed out on the recent Baron’s War KS.

As I’m planning to build out a few retinues for LR, I’m thinking the groups of merry men archers and the sheriff’s foot serjeants might be from plastic boxes for cost. Maybe Conquest miniatures for the merry men, and fireforge for the serjeants. Leaders/characters probably from footsore, but I have always loved the GW little John and tuck. I might source Robin Hood from the Rangers of Shadow Deep line. True these aren’t exactly Robin of Sherwood, but I am certainly inspired by it, and still hope to aim for its tone.

I'm a huge fan of Robin of Sherwood, too. I think it is my favourite version of the legend (though I also really liked Sean Connery's take on it in that movie that also had Audrey Hepburn as Marion). They have been showing it on ITV4 lately, an episode a day!

Seeing it again I noticed so many familiar faces I had forgotten were in it (not to mention Clive Mantle and Ray Winstone): John Nettles, Oliver Tobias, John Rhys Davies, Phil Davis, Richard O'Brian, Rula Lenska, Lewis Collins(!), the fellow who played Inspector Japp in Poirot. And that's just off the top of my head. I'm sure there are a couple I'm forgetting. It's like an early version of the Harry Potter movies: If you were a British actor at the time, you were in it! :)

I recently bought the Robin Hood figure range from Slave2gaming, an Australian company for those not familiar. The figures are very much of the Errol Flynn Hollywood version of the legend which suited me against the more modern Robin of Sherwood etc and I shall probably use the Conquest Games Sheriff's Normans as adversaries with the baddie characters from Footsore. All good fun whichever way!!

Lancashire Games have just taken over the old Hinchliffe ranges from Hinds Figures. Obviously an old school type of sculpt but they have their charm and are cheap as chips. Site links appears to be having probs at the mo unfortunately.

North Star have a metal Robin, Marian and Sheriff in the style of the 2006 BBC series, as well as a Sherwood Outlaws set combining Frostgrave Soldiers plastic figures with extra arms for archery, quivers and hooded and capped heads.

Jack I've started reading a book called Outlaw by Angus Donald. Its part of a series told by Alan Dale. Obviously fiction but gives a breakdown of Robin's gang which includes archers and M at A. It also gives  some uniform detail. Robin has a grey/black wolf head on a white background and the Sheriff (Murdac) has red chevron on a black background. I intend to use these details as the basis for my RH from the Footsore kickstarter.
regards
Frank

I just checked this book out at the local library. Thanks for the suggestion!
