Napoleonic Camp Followers - Laundry Day
« on: 10 April 2021, 06:42:01 PM »
What better way to spend a gray raining morning than to show off my latest painting efforts for my Napoleonic toy soldier collection. Today I present something a little different, featuring the camp followers on laundry day. You can see more photos on my blog here:

That's too funny, but it happens to me all of the time!

Good idea. May have to copy that.

Copy away Fiercekitty, but if any more folks hop on this train I might have to ask Franznap for a kickback!   :D

Excellent!

We did this one for our Fishguard 1797 game - a Pembroke Yeoman chats up the ladies (including an old crone smoking her pipe) at the town pump.  However, his conquest from the night before has turned up with the pelisse he left behind at her place in his rush to escape...

That's fantastic Jemima Fawr.  I love that it comes with a backstory!  I have a ready one for my vignette, that I was going to pull out if someone noticed the French tunic being washed under the noses of the British command...

@Jemima Fawr: I just got that little vignette out and fiddled around with how to best arrange it. :)

It's a lovely set, isn't it?  I love the old crone with her pipe and fingerless gloves and the way that the Trooper is tapping his own pipe out on the sole of his boot.

Sorry, I should have said that apart from the jilted lady, it's a set by Eureka.  He's actually as Revolutionary War French Chasseur, but does perfectly well as a Yeomanry Trooper.  I think the supernumerary lady is a Perry ACW rioter (we used a lot of those for our Welsh ladies).  My mate Martin added the Welsh ladies' hats and other bits and pieces.

The old crone is a particularly inspired figure!

Although not having any laundry but does a bakery for the French Revolution count?

Why doesn't someone model a young crone?
