Started work on my forces for a project finally set in Ireland.

This will be a skirmish based set of games and campaign for us to play and will likely include items to help theme the project over to the Thirty Years War or English Civil War as well to get maximum use from things.

Anyway... First a little tester. To get started I figured I’d bash out one of the new Bloody Miniatures 28mm ECW skirmish figures.

These are really excellent models and themed and posed for skirmish games, not rank and file battles, so give a very dynamic look.

Nice work Piers!
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

Excellent painting.  The figure displays a lot of the character of the 17th century.

I’ve got a batch on the way to me.  Seeing that, it looks like I’ll have to step up my painting!
