Don’t worry about it breaking down, the Fitter had such a limited fuel capacity it will be lucky to make it to the end of the table. :)

Well, there is that.  But mechanical reliability and fuel capacity issues of the actual plane aside, the model still looks great! ;)

Glad you all liked the Fitter, and apologies for the lack of updates lately…real life has been getting in the way recently.

Jealous of the arms race on Paul’s thread, I managed to spend a bit of time today working on some more air support for the VDV…. a 1/48th scale Mi-8 Hip

To my knowledge there isn’t a kit available for the Hip in 1/48 if you exclude the BPM printed model, so this is probably going to be my only Mi-8 unless I win the lottery…as it’s a rather expensive diecast that I’ve repainted.

That said, it’s worth every penny, as it’s a beast of a helicopter

Great looking Mi-8.
I was looking at past posts.
May I ask where did you pick up the Corgi 1/50 M-1s?
Thanks.

Thanks  :)

I picked up the Corgi M-1s more than 10 years ago…I’m afraid they are long since OOP but still crop up now and again on fleabay.

Wow!! :-* :-*

There's a diecast Hip in 1/48? Only ever seen the 1/72 Hobby Boss version. Been patiently waiting for the long promised Annetra kit(s) but I see no real hope of them being released any time soon. Pity, one of the proposed kits was marketed as an 'easy build'. There is a resin Hip in 1/48 out there but far, far, more work than I am prepared to do.

What make is the Hip? I have three Mi-2s and a couple of Hinds but I would love to add a Hip to the collection.

WOW!  :o
Super jealous over here. This is a great find, and I hope you didn't pay too much for it.  :D

IIRC the brand is FloZ … it’s marketed as a Chinese Mi-171 so you might need to beat Paul to one for his PLA collection  ;)

That is a splendid beast. Looks good with the figures.

You just reminded me that I have a MIL9 sitting in a pile in the loft. Just need some spare hours (weeks) to get the glue out  lol

Diecast is far better. Although you will need a reinforced flight stand for that one.  :o

Cheers Paul - it comes with a metal flight stand and base…will do some in-flight photos at some point, but my table is a bit of a mess right now  ;)

Nice job on that one, though!
