[commercial] New Age of Sail flag sets
« on: 23 April 2021, 04:21:12 PM »
Our 1/600 scale Age of Sail ranges keep growing at a steady pace, now with the addition of three new 17th and 18th centuries naval flag sets. One of them is dedicated to the Royal Scots Navy between 1630 and 1707, while the other two are intended to cover Hindustan waters scenarios with a couple of sets related to the Mogul/Mughal Empire and the Maratha Confederation.

After these new releases, our Age of Sail collection now provides for thirty-four flag sets belonging to sixteen 17th century seafaring nations, as well as those of another nine 18th century ones. In the next months we're going to gradually increase releases related to this latter period.

Best regards,

I currently know of none, but I hope there's something, somewhere. If anyone knows, please share!

Some pieces of info at regard can be found on Wikipedia, however - especially regarding the Marathas, who unlike the Mughals took care of having a modern and powerful navy, with the help of portuguese mercenaries.

The backbone of Maratha naval force were the ghurabs or grabs (similar to western frigates), that showed a hybrid rigging - with lateen sailed foremast and galleon-like the rest of masts. Their other main ship was a small galley called gallivat, similar in size to a western galiot.
