Alternative use of Empress North Vietnamese?

 Can the figures be used for something else than NVA? Maybe some non historical ideas!

They would probably be usable for Indonesia and Malaya as long as you picked the older weapons.

Also they would fit with many African bush wars in terms of weapons and equipment.
Actually the big Gringos 40s NVA figures fit Africa very well.

Some of them, at least the ones in gym boots, could be used for Central American guerillas  including the Contras or with a bit of work on the headwear, as ERP (Sandinista regulars).

That said, the PAVN didn’t just fight in the Second Indochina War/ Vietnam War against the South and its allies. They also fought in Laos and Cambodia against the government forces there and then in 1979, they overthrew Pol Pot’s regime. Rubicon are producing some plastic Viet Cong which while a bit dubious as VC would make ideal Khmer Rouge.

Then you have the Sino-Vietnamese war in 1979 and even after that China and Vietnam fought a series of fairly intense border skirmishes for much of the 1980s. Admittedly the Chinese are absent in this or any other scale.
